WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
In the recent centuries, China not only experienced rapid economic growth, but also large increases in economic inequality.
In the attempt to reduce economic inequality within China, we decided to start with one of the most basic sources of life—water. While most homes in urban cities maintain clean and stable water supplies, many in rural China suffer since young. Some people—particularly women and girls—spend hours searching for water sources to meet their daily needs.
Therefore, we decided to collaborate with WE charity to raise 10,000RMB and help people in rural China to obtain water wells. Having clean water can transform lives. When communities gain access to clean water, young girls can go to school, women can earn their own income, families can gain food security and the health of the entire community improves. A recent survey of 100,000 health care facilities in developing areas found that more than 50% lack running water and soap; and 40% of the world’s population is affected by water scarcity. Therefore, we need your help to ease economic inequality, starting with the most basic source of life—water. We hope you can join us, and empower yourself to create a better world.
